In 1993, Dr. Goldstein completed postgraduate courses to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). Since then, he has volunteered as a sports chiropractor at numerous beach volleyball tournaments and road races and continues to help many active people in his office. Today, after many years in practice, Dr. Goldstein continues to read, take seminars and pursue clinical excellence by keeping up with any information that might be helpful to his patients.
In 2000, Dr. Goldstein completed seminars in Functional Laboratory Assessment and a new system for treating patients called Torque Release Technique. This technique is a modern approach to chiropractic assessment that won its founder, Dr. Jay Holder, Florida Chiropractic Researcher of the Year in 1995. Dr. Holder is among a group of practitioners that developed Auriculotherapy, a Chinese system for treating pain, internal disorders and addictions by treating small points on the ear. Dr. Goldstein completed courses in Auriculotherapy in 2000.
In 2006, Dr. Goldstein attended seminars in Functional Endocrinology and Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis. These courses have expanded his ability to recognize how subtle alterations in blood chemistry can manifest itself in non pathological endocrine disturbances.
In 2007 he took Seminars in a new methodology in treating muscle and tendon problems. One was called Graston Technique, and the other SASTM technique. Both were developed by the same person, David Graston. The basis of both techniques is to use an instrument to break up scar tissue and adhesions within the muscle or within the fascia covering a muscle that might be causing pain or restrictions in movement. Dr. Goldstein uses the SASTM (Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) tools because he thinks they are easier to use for the practitioner and less intimidating to the patient. He has been using the instruments successfully to treat tendonitis, carpal tunnel, nerve entrapment syndromes, rotator cuff injuries, acute and chronic neck and lower back disc problems, and various other conditions.
